Car Insurance Bands

Car insurance bands

Car insurance bands are the groups of insurance companies that provide the protection to the car against any sought of disasters occurring to the cars. The cost of the insurance depends on the type and brand of the car the customer is driving. There are nearly 50 insurance companies found in and around the United States. Nearly half of the repair cost of the motors is paid by the motor insurance company. The car’s insurance is based on the repair times and the cost of parts. Longer repair times and high cost of the parts have to pay more money for the insurance premiums. The insurance company is rated from 1 to 20 according to the premiums. The group at the highest requires more premiums to be paid and the more risky cars are placed in this category. The car having higher acceleration and high average speed is placed under the higher group and thus the owner of the car should have to pay higher premiums for insurance than the other cars. Another prime factor for the grouping of the insurance companies is the price of the cars that are being purchased. The cars having low specification engines come under the lower category and the owner of these cars need to pay a little amount as the premium. The Porsche 911 is the car model that is situated in the top group and need to pay more insurance premium amount.

Car insurance bands are split into 20 groups. The group 1 is being the lower most group and the lower risk vehicles are placed under this group. The group 20 is the highest group and the high risky cars are placed under the group 20. The size of the car engine is the main factor in determining the group of the car insurance group. Other factors by which the vehicles are categorized into the insurance groups are car security, weight, top speed, power and the price of spare parts. If the insurance band is lower then the insurance premium will also be generally lower. These car insurance groups are set by the Group Rating Panel. The cars that contain high security door locks, alarm immobilizer, glass etching, coded audio equipment, locking devices for alloy wheels and visible Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) numbers are considered to be less risky of theft and contain high security values. Acceleration and top speed are important factors that determine the group under which the particular car comes under. The car group can also be categorized on the basis of the parts prices. Standard lists of 23 common parts are used to compare the cost of parts from one manufacturer with the other manufacture in determining the car insurance group. If the costs of these parts are lower then the car comes under the lower rated group and need to pay only little amount as the insurance premium.
